3rd Annual Apex Founders Day is March 19, 2016

The third annual Apex Founders Day celebration is Saturday March 19th, 2016, from 9am to 5pm in Historic Downtown Apex. This is a great event for anyone interested in the history of Apex, arts and crafts, or all things vintage/antique. There is NO parade but there will be a large area – at the Apex Chamber of Commerce parking lot – where exhibits and demonstrations will be set up. A map and more details will become available in the next several weeks Some of the activities in the Apex Chamber of Commerce parking area include:

  • Model-A Club
  • Civil War Reenactors
  • Hit & Miss Engines
  • Vintage Tractors
  • Blacksmith
  • Chuck Wagon & Dutch oven cooking
  • Electric cars
  • Vintage Police Equipment
  • Antique Fire Engine
  • Axe Throwing – NCSU Forestry Dept.


Activities located inside the nearby Halle Cultural Arts Center include:

  • Weaving Guild
  • Triangle Potters Guild
  • Speakers on historical subjects: Toby Holleman and Warren Holleman on the history of Apex and SW Wake Co.; Bob Crowley on the New Hope Valley Railway.
  • Quilters Guild
  • Woodturners Guild
  • Rug Hookers Guild
  • Wood Spirit Carvers
  • Mid-West Tool Association
