Over the past several years, Downtown Apex has developed from a sleepy little small business enclave into a regionally-acclaimed shopping and dining destination. Its emergence into the spotlight is a truly wonderful success story. In a recent poll by a local publication, Downtown Apex was voted the Number 1 "Best Place to Visit" in the Triangle area. The Apex Downtown Business Association (ADBA) has been instrumental in bringing about this success through its efforts to facilitate teamwork, communication, and promotional activities among business owners, community leaders, service organizations, citizens, and sponsors.
Many of the programs and activities that bring thousands of people to Downtown Apex and the surrounding area are sponsored directly by the ADBA, or in partnerships with other local organizations. Some examples are Peakfest, Rotary Pancake Breakfast, Peak City Pigfest, Fourth of July celebration, Jazz Festival, Trick or Treat on Salem Street, Christmas on Salem Street, and the annual Apex Christmas Parade. These programs and activities undoubtedly lead to increased business revenue and add substantially to the viability of Downtown Apex as a great place to do business.
