Farmers Market
Farmers Market Salem St. @ Chamber of Commerce Old Depot parking lot

    April 2009: Farmers Market will reopen for a 3rd great season

The Apex Farmers Market will be open from 8 am to 1 pm each Saturday from August 18 to November 3, 2007.  The market will be housed in the parking lot at the Apex Chamber of Commerce (Old Depot), 220 North Salem Street in downtown Apex.

The market is open to vendors selling homemade crafts, seafood, farm products and farm bi-products such as jellies, jams, lye soap, etc.  All items must be home grown or homemade by those selling them.  Non-profit organizations are welcome.Throughout the season there will be special promotions at the market.  Upcoming planned additions include:  antique cars on display and a child's face painter.

Those wishing to be vendors, please sign up by logging onto the web site www.ncgazette.com and click on Farmer's Market for an application. There will be a $5 sign-up fee for each Saturday the market is open. We invite shoppers coming to the market to continue their visit through the stores in the historic downtown district.     9am - 12pm: Games, food, fun for all the family
    12pm: Children's Parade down Salem St. (from Apex Baptist Church parking lot to Train Depot Parking lot)

All children come dressed in patriotic costume, decorate your bikes, wagons & strollers


Arts Council Festival*

    9am - 5pm: The best in art, crafts and home spun creations

Fall 2009 Arts Council Festival date to be announced.


Apex High School Homecoming Parade*

  • Friday, October 10, 2008
    4pm to 5pm: Parade will be on a Friday afternoon

Parade assembly is the back lower parking lot of Apex Baptist Church
Parade route is north on Salem St., turn right on Hunter St and turn left on Laura Duncan Rd. and conclude in the parking lot of Apex High School

Parade 2009 date to be announced.


October 31, 2008 Trick-or-Treat on Salem St.

  • Friday, October 31st
    5pm - 8pm: Bring the little ones - shops, merchants, restaurants & businesses will be open
    and will have treats for all the kids in costume.

Christmas on Salem Street*

  • Friday, December 5th 5pm - 9pm
    5pm: Christmas Carols at the town Christmas Tree @ the Depot
    5:30pm: Lighting of the Christmas Tree by Mayor Weatherly and arrival of Santa & Mrs. Clause
    6pm: Carriage & Sleigh Rides begin, on Salem St.
    Shops, merchants, restaurants & businesses open with holiday treats & refreshments
  • Saturday December 6th
    7am - 11am: Rotary Pancake Breakfast with Santa @ Apex Fire House on Salem St.
    9am - 2pm: ADBA Pictures with Santa @ Apex Fire House on Salem St.
    5pm: JC's Annual Christmas Parade on Salem St.
  • Sunday December 7th
    1pm - 5pm: Apex Historical Society 2008 Holiday Home Tour & Historic Maynard-Pearson House Tour

*Five times a year the streets in Historic Downtown Apex (Salem St.) are closed to traffic for Festivals, Celebrations & Parades.
