Located in the heart of Apex's historic district, Ciao! Osteria offers a menu featuring Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine. Oversized black and white vintage photos line the rustic brick walls in our first floor sala da pranzo. Our wine cellar houses an all-Italian list of nearly two dozen wines. Ciao's full bar/lounge is located on the 2nd floor sala interna in this 1915 historical building.

We offer an elegant yet casual urban dining experience, smoke free environment, gourmet children's menu, outdoor dining, banquets, catering and private parties.

Ciao! Osteria, is the product of a lifelong dream and the first Osteria in the Triangle! Executive Chef Alex Azzam’s favorite quote by mathematician, Arnold Ross, “Think Deeply of Simple Things” relays his belief that simple can be very exciting when the basics are not compromised.

Born in England, Alex spent a lot of time with his family in Eastern Europe, Cairo and Tunisia. At 14, he followed his dream of becoming a Chef. After participating in a Culinary apprenticeship in Cyprus, Spain and Italy, Alex was accepted into the Culinary Arts Institute, in Le Cordon Bleu, France, where he earned his BA.

Prior to 2006, Alex served as Executive Chef at Bravo Franco, voted best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh, The Common Plea, one of the top 100 restaurants in the U.S.A. in 2004, and was Culinary partner at Flair in Shadyside. Chef Alex was also the featured Chef and Culinary Stylist in the Pittsburgh city paper in June of 2002, February 2005 and March 2006, The Point in April 2006, and the Triangle’s DineDoGo in the Spring2007 edition. Be on the look out for “The Kitchen Widow,” Alex and his wife’s first book.

Ciao! a passionate Cucina Italiana strives to give customers flawless service, a memorable dining experience, and unforgettable Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine. Buon appetito!
